Pirangulam village was converted to Christianity and they named their village as Arockianathapuram. 784 Christians live over there and mostly they do coolie work. Our Lady of Good Health was built at the time of Rev.Fr. Joakim, the then parish priest, and was blessed by the most Rev. Bishop Irudhayaraj of Palayamkottai diocese on 20.12.1994. Till then Sisters of St.Ann, Trichy serve these people as they work in the Diocesan Primary School and run St.Joseph High School for the children of this village.
The feast of Arockia Annai is celebrated with the hoisting of the flag on the 30th of August and ends on 8th of September. Every Saturday Holy Eucharist is being offered at 7p.m.
